Instructions for patients having pulmonary testing:

*Please refrain from smoking on the day of your appointment

*Wear loose, comfortable clothing

*Avoid alcohol within four hours of testing

*Avoid performing vigorous activity within 30 minutes of testing

*Do not eat a large meal within 2 hours of testing

*Dentures may be worn

*Please do not take your inhaled bronchodilator medication within 6 hours of testing, unless your breathing problem warrants it

*Do take your other scheduled medications

*Please bring in a list of all your medications, including inhalers and sprays
