J. D. Britton, MD, MPH, FACOEM

Dr. Britton was born and raised in Houston, Texas. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Southwestern University. Dr. Britton received his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, and then a Masters of Public Health from the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Dr. Britton is board certified in Occupational Medicine through American Board of Preventive Medicine. He is a NIOSH-certified ILO “B” reader, and a certified MRO (medical review officer). Dr. Britton is past president of the TXCOEM, the Texas branch of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine and a Fellow in the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (FACOEM).
Dr. Britton has academic appointments at the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and the University of Texas Medical School at Houston and is an Occupational Medicine consultant to FMC Technology and the Houston Firefighter Pension system.
Dr. Britton is president of the Texas Occupational Medicine Institute in Houston, Texas and has been in private medical practice since 1988.
Dr. Britton is married, has one grown son, and three grandchildren. Dr. Britton enjoys music, the outdoors, riding his bicycles, traveling, and collecting motorcycles.
In 2006, Dr. Britton became one of the founding partners of Texas Occupational Medicine Institute.
